If you have or know a child that will be three years of age on or before October 1, 2010 and is interested in participating in our program please stop by or call the front office and we will be sure to get a registration packet to you in March. The Weather is Delightful We are required to provide 45 minutes of outside time each day. Even in cold weather. Please be sure your child is dressed to enjoy their outdoor time. Children look forward to going outdoors each day. The State feels children can comfortably be outside as long as the wind chill is 35 degrees or higher. A Note From the Nurse's Office... According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: Overview of Common Cold: A cold usually includes a runny nose, sore throat, sneezing and coughing. These symptoms can last for up to two weeks. When germs that cause colds first infect the nose and sinuses, the nose makes clear mucus. This helps wash the germs form the nose and sinuses. After two or three days, the body's immune cells fight back, changing the mucus to a white or yellow color. As the bacteria that live in the nose grow back, they may also be found in the mucus, which changes mucus to a greenish color. This is normal and does not mean your child needs antibiotics. See a Healthcare Provider if You or Your Child has: -Temperature higher than 100.4 degrees F -Symptoms that last more than 10 days -Symptoms that are not relieved by over-the-counter medicines Preventing the Common Cold: -Practice good hygiene -Avoid close contact with people who have colds or other upper respiratory infections. |
