Millville High School Instrumental Music Program
Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time or refining your advanced skills, Millville High School’s Instrumental Music Program offers a variety of courses to help students explore, perform, and excel in music. From theory to performance, beginners and experienced musicians alike can find their place in our program!
🎹 Music Appreciation (Level 1) – No experience required! Learn the fundamentals of music, explore different genres, try multiple instruments, and gain an understanding of music history and technology.
🎹 Music Theory 1 & AP Music Theory (Levels 2 & 3) – Develop ear training, sight-reading, composition, and advanced analysis skills, including practical applications for writing and arranging music.
🎹 Piano & Guitar (Levels 1 & 2) – Build foundational skills or refine advanced techniques, explore a variety of musical styles, and perform solo or in ensembles.
🎺 Concert Band & Symphonic Band (Levels 2 & 3) – Join a wind, brass, or percussion ensemble, perform standard and advanced repertoire, and participate in school concerts, festivals, and adjudicated events.
🥁 Percussion Ensemble (Level 2) – Focus on melodic percussion, ensemble performance, and rhythmic development in this specialized group.
🎷 Jazz Ensemble (Level 3) – Explore jazz performance, improvisation, and history. Open to proficient wind, string, or percussion players through audition.
🎧 Sound Engineering (Level 1) – Students get hands-on experience with recording, editing, mixing, and running sound for live productions using industry-standard technology.
